I feel like this route was like this before Covid too. Lax-Jfk you knew what you got in both J and F. This route seems all over the place. Sometimes they didnt even know upon arrival at MIA that FL access wsa to be granted for F, or J, since it was a 77W. That said at least it gets a full meal during Covid. Hoping the food matches what the menu says, thats never fun to be given something different (and kind of lame they cant match their catering with the menu).
The AC MIA showers arent on by any chance are they? That would be nice after arriving on the red eye. I'm guessing no such luck but just asking since FL seems to be back to normal.
Sorry, can't comment on the showers because I don't trust AA's facilities so I go home and bathe right away after a flight. However, note that the Flagship section of the AC is still closed in Miami.
As for the inconsistencies, yes they are very, very common on AA. Sometimes they work on your favor... about two weeks ago I was on the 772 flight and the entire J cabin got the F amenity kits and the proper F/J Casper duvet. If you end up with a menu that isn't at all what actually gets catered, you can always ask the cabin crew to show pictures of the meals (they get a handout with images of each entree).
