With all of the changes in options for changing flights - wondering if people had advice on this.....
most of my traveling these days involves work - and typically finishing on a friday afternoon - but unable to catch the last flight out to head home which means taking the first flight out on Saturday. My tickets are booked weeks in advance by the corporate agency - and they are very helpful, but per UA - they "own" the tickets with regards to change.
Sometimes, I am done with work early that opens up the option of taking a friday evening flight home....
I know these are technically not "same day changes" - but short of working with the travel agent to cancel the saturday flight and purchasing, at the last minute, the Friday flight (probably at significant expense)....any advice from veteran road warriors?

buy a friday ticket and a saturday and plan on using one and canceling the other?
