Pat, just how low-key are these sales pitches? I kind of like doing timeshare presentations, but my husband hates the hard sell. We did a Hilton tour, and it was a much harder sell than I would have expected from a name-brand outfit.
As for anyone who is thinking of buying at Marriott, I would strongly urge you to first check out the Marriott board at
www.tug2.net Apparently, there are often substantial discounts directly from Marriott if one buys when the resort is still in the planning phase. The deals at the resorts that are already built are not nearly as good.
There is a substantial resale market for Marriott timeshares, often at big discounts from Marriott's own prices. However, I believe that one loses the ability to get Marriott loyalty points for one's ownership if one buys resale. I'm not a Marriott owner, so I'd check
