Plus, if you decide to wait until an involuntary change, be aware that the call center would be unable to rebook you without detaching the ELPL voucher and the upgrade so most likely to save them you would need to contact a sales office so be prepared for that.
Right as always ISTFlyer. I got an email yesterday that the schedule had changed by 30 minutes, putting me in the involuntary change category. Called the E+ line, where I was told a sales office would have to make the change. Fortunately, it doesn't look like the miles and voucher I used to upgrade would have expired by now, so if they are redeposited they should still be valid to rebook on a later date. I checked my preferred dates at the end of the year and there J availability on all legs, luckily. I emailed the NYC office to make the change. Let's see what happens.
