If you have to fork over cash to an attendant or take a ticket from a machine, this will not be retroactively reimbursed.
This isn't necessarily the rule. I know a hotel (HR in the USA) where one takes a ticket to enter the parking lot, the front desk stamps it so that you can exit, and the hotel followed the free parking for Globs on all stays rule during the last promo.
