On the return, 2 F seats were open until at the gate. No one cleared off the UG list. So I am wondering who the 2 people are that are sitting in the seats that were empty.
Worst turbulence I have ever had 30 min out from Billings. Plane rolling to R/L quite badly and awful shaking.
Report the upgrade issue to Alaska Listens and specifically put it in the comments to the Airport staff....I've had better luck with that than Customer Care. I had the same thing happen from FLL-SAN recently that went out with 2 empty seats in F and people on the upgrade list. The supervisor of the Southeastern region actually looked into it and discovered that the gate agent simply didn't clear the upgrade list so my wife and I each got $75 discount codes. This kind of thing seems to happen more often in these outstations. I wish FAs could see the upgrade list and have the ability to move people into empty seats in F that should have been upgraded....its got to be embarassing to hand a chocolate bar to a 75K in coach when you see unfilled seats in F.
