I suspect they would try to deny any claim initially. However, if you gave them enough documentation, they might relent. Let's hope you don't need to use it!
Turns out that I did have to use this benefit! Murphy's law, right?
Took them a while to review and was asked for boarding passes even though I had provided all changed itineraries, but was finally approved for trip delay, though it was only ~ $100 for food, etc.
