Not really. Aberdeen is an odd place. Mid-sized city, the economy is partially driven by the oil rigs off the coast--stay there for any length of time and you get used to seeing big helicopters ferrying workers to those rigs--but the oil economy has been hurt the last several years. IHG has several properties in and around the area and Hilton used to. All of them tend to price lower than other areas in the UK. During the summer, I've stayed in the HIX across from the Aberdeen arena a couple of miles from the center of the city for less than $60 per night.
