Same. I don't have that kind of control. I ate an almost frozen stroopwaffel on an UA flight last week, hard as a rock but didn't make a difference to me, and then asked FA for another (room temperature).
I've posted it previously I believe, but my trick is to sit on it. Aside the potential indignity of eating something you just sat upon, it'll be warm and gooey in just a few minutes.
