I had clients stay at Ventana last October and sadly they had some service issues.
I would suspect much of it had to do with new covid policies and the difficulty it can be for staff to thread the line between following rules and an eagerness to meet client expectations.

I would 100% suggest a water view if budget permits. I promise you , you will not likely leave your patio/balcony if you do.
It's what I remember most about my stay there.
The water views are some of the most expansive you have ever seen as the resort sits about 1500 ft up.
You realize why, back in the day, they all thought the world was flat.
Just amazing.
