Best thing nowadays is to fly with hand baggage only, do OLCI and PYOBP and head straight for the lounge. At boarding time, unless you have a lot of hand baggage and actually need a bit more space in the lockers, wait in the lounge until everyone else has boarded.
Ooops - I'd forgotten that I was going to mention that (might have been the crew bag which managed to blot that from my mind... ). You're absolutely right - shoes, belt, watch, cufflinks - I was beginning to wonder quite what I was going to be left with....

And Norodnik, you're spot on with the prices - my Megabank corp agreemment flexible J ticket came out at £1461.50, so definitely a nice little earner for BA!
