The start of Do&Co as an airline caterer dates back to the friendship between Attila Doğudan and Niki Lauda, who had started his Lauda airline (NG) and wanted his friend to provide decent inflight catering of his flights. Do&Co at that time had no airline catering experience and developed everything from scratch, which bought about innovations like the onboard chef, who is not a FA but just staff provided by the caterer. When TK wanted to relaunch their airline Do&Co took over their catering wing completely and applied the knowledge gained with Lauda onto the new TK concept.
When Lauda sold NG to OS in the early 2000s Do & Co got the catering contract for all of OS longhaul and the OS owned caterer did the rest. At one point to the OS caterer was dissolved and Do & CO took over everything including lounges.
In 2019 Do&Co lost the OS lounge contract in VIE. The FRA FCT contract was also adjusted, but Do&Co retained the contract.
Overall Do&Co has become a victim of their success and now is a large airline catering company like the others. It still has a prestigious aura, but in essence they deliver what the customer specifies.
