Flight cancel but no refund (only ecredit)
Hi all,
I am not a frequent flyer on Delta and I figured it's probably quicker to ask a question here than read and find a solution in Delta's site.
I booked a ticker on Delta end of last year for a flight in April. Recently they sent me a flight itinerary change notice. The first leg of my flight is cancelled. Delta rebooked me to a new flight which moved my departure time to four hrs earlier. Plus now my layover time for second leg became five hrs from just a little over one hr. Delta gave me two options - reschedule for free or cancel. I tried reschedule first but none of the time worked for the day. I proceed to cancelled the ticker and continue to look for alternative. Then I got an email notification saying my ticker is cancelled and they give me an ecredit (expires in 6 months time or so). I don't if I will use the ecredit at all by the expiration. Shouldn't they just refund my money to original method of payment, or this is how Delta works?
Any recourse i have at this point?
