Definitely not worth the effort and cost of breaking the reservation if you don’t have a TSU... they’ll see both of your reservations at check in and they’ll just get “merged” either way (in the hotel’s systems, at least, even if you still see them separately in the Hyatt app/site).
If two people are traveling together in a situation like this, and one has a TSU and the other doesn’t, one could book the first night and the other the remainder and get the suite.
Presumably that would prevent the “merger,” right?
