Sorry, got it now. I totally agree with you. I get quite annoyed when I have to fight for a late check-out at a hotel that I know is not a conference center/resort and therefore should immediately grant the request,

The issue is the Marriott "Guarantee" and the expectation that Marriott live up to its guarantee. (Guaranteed 4 p.m. late checkout, subject to availability at resort and convention hotels)
