It's nice to hear from other FTers who have experienced problems, and in Canada no less.

At this point I have been told "Sorry" several times and that Marriott doesn't know of any remedy or consequence if a Marriott property does not honor the guarantee.

The Marriott website should say "Guaranteed 4 p.m. late checkout, subject to availability at resort and convention hotels...and any property that chooses not to honor late checkout."

P.D. I cancelled my upcoming Marriott stay and instead made a reservation with Hilton. I'm sad, not mad.

Throughout Covid, I still fly every week. Hilton has given me upgrades several times over the last year; Marriott has not. Guaranteed 4 pm Late Checkout used to be the one factor motivating me to stay with Marriotts over Hiltons.
