This did backfire on me. I changed the date from the 28th to the 2nd because I wanted to get in on the grocery 300 credit before the end of June. But now they changed my dashboard to statement ending in July instead of June. Thanks, chase!
Don't blame Chase. Your strategy was doomed from the start. The credit resets with the first statement after your cardmember anniversary. Changing your statement date to the 2nd would have only helped if your cardmember anniversary is June 1 and June 1 only. You had no margin for error.
There should be no harm in doing this again once you find out your anniversary date. Change your statement date to anniversary date + 1 and you should see the credit reset date revert to June.
