Other than the suite shenanigans it was a good stay. Between the first night and the second a lot opened up - breakfast was a la carte the first day but buffet the second day, and the lounge had its happy hour on the second (I didn't go to the lobby reception on the first night). The breakfast spread had all the greatest hits and was tasty without being stunning.
The hotel definitely feels new. The pool and spa area was very nice and the pool, while small, is just about big enough for lapping. Sauna and steam room were decent as well.
Just a shame they couldn't work out where I could park my bicycle securely.
