I am new to referrals but am trying to apply for a Chase Marriott Bonvoy card with a referral from my wife. My objective was to secure Bonvoy points as the welcome bonus. Unfortunately the only applications that are generated via the referral have free night certificates, not points, as the bonus. Is this normal? Is there any way to generate the advertised points bonus and still have my wife receive the referral bonus? Do these referral bonuses change and if so how often. Thanks for any insight.
