Just looking around and it appears that some cheap fares have finally been announced for the launch of the SYD-HKG service on Virgin Atlantic. They're companion fares, but for AU$599+tax each when two people travel together it's a pretty sweet saving over the usual QF or CX fares. All bookings need to be made by the 20th of October to snap these fares up though. No doubt there'll be a few around looking to sample something different anyway!
