Hi guys,

I have read everywhere that if you cancel your Amex, then you lose your avios points. However, apparently, this does not apply to the 2-4-1 companion voucher stored in your BA account. My question is this; obviously cancelling Amex would mean you lose points on your account but would you also lose the points already transferred to the BA Executive Club account, in light of people not losing their companion vouchers?

I have been using PayPal to pay for building work and was contacted by Amex today who told me that is against their terms and conditions and they will be restricting further payments through PayPal. Obviously this is ridiculous but I would rather not argue with them. I have approximately 35k points in my BA Executive Club account and am considering cancelling my Amex before my 30 days expire so I am not liable for the annual fee. I would have kept the card if not be the ridiculous call I got today.
