Yes this certainly is an unusual routing... I had read so many posts in this forum about the cheap fares out of CAI, and one day whilst i was playing around on the emirates website trying to figure out how to get to Dar Es Salaam I found out that there were some pretty good deals to be found from CAI in both J and F

I found a price of 1300 usd for a return flight in F CAI-DXB-DAR-DXB-CAI... (J was about 1150) Hmm... a trip to cairo from denmark in Y was 450 usd, all in all 1750 usd for this unique experience. It didn't take long for me to decide to try this out, and with the full flexibility of an F ticket which is changable at any time up until departure this suited me just perfect. On the top of everything EK through in a nights stay at the Le Meridien (STPC) which gave me a wonderfull time relaxing by the pool until the chauffer picked me up at around 1:30 pm.

It might be a bit crazy (it is a bit crazy i know ) but for me it was another exiciting adventure which gave me new insights into EKs service.

Had this been a business trip where an employer was paying for me however i doubt that they had accepted this "alternative" routing... But attending a conference and having a few days to spare it was just the right thing to do for me...

by the way the prices i found from CDG-DAR on EK website were about 5000 usd!!! Probably this could be found cheaper elsewhere, but i doubt that it can compete with the fare out of CAI.
