Went through SLC for my first and second time since the new terminal was built last week. I don't understand the hate. Inbound was delayed and we had 17 minutes to get from A to B gates. The gate agent meeting our delay flight called to our connecting gate to let them know we were on our way and the walk was not as long as people say here. It took us 6 minutes and we made our flight a few minutes before they closed the door. On the return, we arrived at the bus gate. It was very smooth and efficient. I had been advocating for bus gates at SEA forever because of the frequent hour long waits for a gate to open. We had to wait more time for ramp personal in SEA on the return flight than it took to park, deplane, get on a bus and get into the terminal. They split the pax into 3 groups to avoid crowding on buses (no we were not packed in like sardines). The new terminal was beautiful, spacious, bathrooms are everywhere, and good food options, including the one we tried. Although I miss the nostalgia of the old SLC, the new airport is a much better experience and I see no reason not to prefer connecting through SLC over other options.
