That other nearby Westin was the Vista International Hotel throughout my childhood, when I was growing up in the DC suburbs.
For those too young to remember, Hilton and Hilton International were two separate chains for many years, and couldn't operate hotels in each other's territory. Vista International was the brand under which Hilton International operated hotels in the US. (Conrad was the name under which Hilton operated hotels overseas).
I remember going to the Ramada Renaissance not long after it opened, when a relative was staying there for a convention. The old convention center was directly across the street, before it was demolished. The Techworld development was a huge new complex that filled a city block. It has since been sold to various buyers, a big chunk of it is currently being overhauled.as Anthem Row:

The centerpiece of Techworld, directly behind the hotel, was a huge building consisting of two octagonal towers, linked by a massive glass skybridge. Bizarrely, only one of the two towers and the skybridge have been sold, and are now known as The Octagon:
