I agree with that. I was already surprised that Hyatt and Marriott would kick off the year with a double night promo. This is something chains usually reserve for the last quarter of the year.
These times have really messed with the common approach these programs apply. Maybe they thought it's better to roll this promo out now and get people book random stays at local properties. If travel will restart in Q3/Q4 people will flood out anyway.
