The Westin DC Downtown, Washington DC (formerly Renaissance) [Master Thread]
The Renaissance Washington DC Downtown, near the convention center, will become a Westin in 2022, following a major renovation.

The press release says it will be renamed The Westin Washington DC, which is odd, as there's already a Westin only about six blocks away near Thomas Circle called The Westin Washington DC City Center. Perhaps that hotel will be renamed or leave Westin? I'm surprised two Westins could operate so close to each other.
The hotel opened in 1989 (not 1992, as the press release erroneously states) as the Ramada Renaissance Techworld.
