I may be in the minority, but I didn't find Dublin very enjoyable - rather drab, cold, laid-back. Once we got out in to the country (Waterford, the Rings, etc.) it was nice, but if I has a long weekend to spend in a city, London would be much higher on my list. As would Paris, Rome, and Florence among those you can get to in a single hop.
