I think the chances are good that the onward business class boarding pass for their Bonaire flight - albeit on the next day, but well within 24 hours - would give them sufficient access to be able to enter the lounge the night before. Even if the barcode scanner complains, the right words (such as perhaps: the Mercure said my room won't be ready for another 90 minutes) to the desk agent, together with both business class BPs, should see them getting into the lounge.
