I have never flown in/out of Terminal 3 pre-covid. What you described sounds pretty bad. But, for instance I have flown in and out of Terminal 2 in LAX Delta lounge, and it was just as packed before and during covid each time I visited, other than when covid first started. But, they never ran out of food. Never experienced a wait list. That would suck. .
