Also keep in mind it is highly unlikely that the caps and quarantine in Aust have changed by May so the entire flight from AUH to MEL will be practically empty and since Etihad have the full schedule loaded in May, I would imagine that the flights will also change at some point in the next few months.

We booked and lo and behold 2 days later Etihad cancelled the AUH-MEL leg without telling us! (Only noticed because they sent me an email about something else and that leg was missing!)

Offered re routing via SYD which I think we won’t take as the whole point was we were getting a good fare into MEL and not having the expense/ hassle of an internal flight after quarantine. That isn’t the case now.
