I just booked a NY-WAS NE Regional trip. I got the BidUp offer at the end of the booking so I decided to take a look. The price differential of the actual ticket from coach to business was $27. The BidUp offer started me at $24 and said the offer was 'good'. The slider takes me from $18 to $28. I'm going to bid $18 and see what happens. The train is currently booked to 25% and I'm completely fine in coach as Amtrak seats are far better than airline coach. United is losing this business since they now fly CRJ200s LGA-IAD. I don't care if it's a 40 minute flight...I'm not taking a CRJ200 to IAD when I can take Amtrak to Union and walk from there to my destination. Any other aircraft with upgrade potential and I'd take it.

Edit 1: The bid process is a bit wonky. After placing my bid the screen said "Added to your trip". I thought I was done. After not getting an email I decided to look more closely at the page and below that came a blue button to enter payment details. It was blocked on my screen by the absurdly annoying "we use cookies" BS. I entered my C/C details again and then I got a confirmation page saying my bid was valid and an email would be sent shortly, which it was. Now I wait. My trip is next week.
