The one good thing about saint 's review is that we now have a report of an Ambassador guest who received a nice upgrade to the Maria Callas suite, whereas I had to pull teeth to get a junior suite. However I wonder how realistic it is to think that odds are very high for a specialty suite upgrade on a regular basis in the future; I would not want to return in the junior suite but if I knew I would get the Maria Callas suite, that would influence my decision-making process.

That said, sounds like air con problems remain, service problems remain, and breakfast is subpar. So it seems to me only one aspect might have improved: upgrades.

The suite at Hyatt is not better than at Metropol Palace because Hyatt is also aging (in fact, possibly even more so), but at least AC, service and breakfast will beat Metropol.
