AC likely won't need the frames until fall at the earliest, although Dr. Tam's announcement today was optimistic about a gradual return in June. Fingers crossed that vaccinations pick up and we see a return of multiple AC wide bodies across the Atlantic every day of the week.
I watched Dr. Tam's announcement and there's nothing I disagree with in there. It would be reasonable to assume that AC's summer TATL operations will be 50% (frequency not capacity). YYZ-LHR and FRA double daily, FCO, MUC, ZRH and CDG daily. They've allotted 333s on YYZ-MUC and FCO and on the LHR day-tripper, so I'd expect at least 6-7 reconfigured frames by the summer (only a few more than status quo). I suppose that they could use YMX for reconfigs - it would definitely be easier to ferry pilots into Montreal than Singapore.
