I was thinking about going in a few months. First Alila Yangshuo, and now this one. They're dropping like flies.
In any event there are plenty of other great properties in China, in attractive destinations. I don't see why there'd be a problem qualifying in the future when even more options will be available.
I called again the hotel and my concierge today - they said Alila Anji has ceased operations effective Feb 20 because the government is concerned about the hotel being built near a reservoir. They don't want to say the hotel is closed permanently but it appears most likely it will be as I spoke to other staff who seem to be looking for jobs.
It's sad as it was a gorgeous hotel and wanted to stay part of the Hyatt chain.
I just need more resorts in China for Hyatt, especially PH and Alilas. I've heard good things about Andaz Xiamen as well. But I'd like more PHs
