I quite agree about QF and UA - and UA is actually shedding more of its domestic routes so it can concentrate on its revenue-producing overseas routes, as part of its reorganisation plan to emerge from bankruptcy. Of course, they are attempting to shed their pension obligations as well. To oouyr Governemnt (sic), of course.
AA is in a position where they have no aircraft to expand transoceanic service with, as you state. These will be most interesting times - but to recap, I doubt any particular nationality has a corner on ignorance, and I don't really thinnk FT is the place to air those kinds of stereotypical feelings, since OMNI has closed.
Cheers,

Perhaps you ought to do a search on this poster's recent questions on this board. Its pretty obvious he has never flow AA ( and quite possibily any other airline for that matter) and up till the above posted moment of inspiration was more interested in the food service, asking repetitious questions, whose answers he seem unable to grasp even when provided with the answer over and over .
But he does hang out on BA board which uniquely qualifies him to have an all encompassing view/opinion about AA and the people who fly.
As a betting man would I lay very short odds that he will be over there reciting to the receptive audience about the "stupid, humorlesss Americans"
