Update on refundable fare purchase

I'll admit it is nice having a refundable fare that you can play with. Make changes that all show $0. I didn't look for any less-expensive flights to see if it would actually refund the difference.

Thanks for all the help! Now I just have to hope that our favorite apartment hotel in Lourdes opens back up. Lots of places to stay in Lourdes but few good ones near the train station and none of the alternatives (near the train station) have air conditioning. France, July, air conditioning is a big deal. :-)
I could get used to buying refundable fares! In the short time since I purchased what I thought was a great price on a refundable fare SFO-CDG ($1400 r/t economy) pricing dropped to $1091. Booked a duplicate fare, cancelled the original with full refund coming soon. Saved over $700 for the two tickets.

It reminds me of the way-back days, when you could call up for a re-fare anytime the pricing came down, and get the difference in a voucher.
