I did a 3-night stay at this hotel last week, $71+ per night.
I arrived into the city by airport train after midnight and Uber'd from Union Station for $12 before tip. Not many Uber drivers out late in snow flurries. I waved 'hello' to the front desk person and made my way to the elevators with my digital key in hand. It took me a few minutes and several tries to figure out I needed to press the 'up' button after unlocking the elevators. Facepalm. My room on the 5th floor (the highest floor out of 11, I think, available when I did app check-in), overlooking Welton St, was large and clean. Something important to me is solid floors and walls, so I can't hear footsteps over my head or my neighbor(s) in the next room. The blinds were cool-y electronically controlled.
Grab n go breakfast is a package of a Jimmy Dean breakfast sandwich, an apple or orange, and a can of juice from 6 - 10 am. The front sliding door requires a key to activate unless someone else happens to be coming or going. The Homewood entrance doors are COVID closed and everyone is using the Hampton door. Hand sanitizer stations in the lobby. The only other information I gleaned from front desk, during these COVID times, is that they schedule swimming pool use.
I'd never been to a hotel that shared a building with another hotel. Their front desks are side by side, they share elevators, and maybe Homewood's are the rooms on the upper floors. Now that I'm thinking of it, the elevators had a door on each side, which maybe the Homewood guests entered/exited, but don't take my word for it. I was mostly solo on my few elevator rides.
All that said, I thought it was a good central location and I'd definitely stay there again if the rate was right.
