Thanks! Yeah, cleaning fees for the ones I've looked at are mostly $50 or $75, the Roosevelt in New Orleans is $175.
For the route, coming from Colorado, we're going to head towards Big Bend, then over through Hill Country, New Orleans, Biloxi, Mobile, then up to Tennessee, back through Arkansas and Oklahoma on the way back. The details of the front half are more fleshed out than the latter half. Any suggestions are welcomed (hotel or just activities, recognizing some may not be feasible still).
Not sure of budget, but here are some thoughts on New Orleans.
Roosevelt is wonderful. Parking is pricey. Diamond breakfast is solid. Nowhere specifically nearby for pets to easily relieve themselves.
Hampton Inn St. Charles Ave is quaint and an overall excellent property. Right on the St. Charles streetcar line. Plenty of nearby parks and grassy areas for your pup.
French Quarter is fun to walk through if you haven’t done it before. Pythian Market, Pelican Club, Cochon, Upperline are our favorite restaurants.
Not much going on in Biloxi. Hilton Garden Inn nearly Gulfport airport is perfectly fine.
Mobile is pretty slim on Hilton properties. The Admiral is OK, but nothing spectacular. There are some good properties on the east side of the bay in Daphne. If you need a break from Hilton, the Marriott Battle House hotel is phenomenal, as is the Grand Hotel at Point Clear.
The Lodge at Gulf State Park is unlike almost any other Hilton property. It’s inside the state park. Miles of trails nearby.
Hilton and Hampton Inn on Pensacola Beach are great. Best beaches in the country, in my humble, unsolicited opinion. Grab a pound of steamed and seasons royal reds at Joe Patti’s.
