Thanks for your review on Canopy Tempe. After sfgiants13's post about the Canopy in Scottsdale I was tempted to ask what could be a decisive reason to elect the Scottsdale property over the one in Tempe. Then I noticed the views from the rooftop pool in Scottsdale, they appear to be worth the while. But you brought up exactly the arguments I was thinking about for the Tempe property, looks like a very attractive town for nightlife (it also has a rooftop pool, maybe a bit poorer in views but only at half the price). So now I'm still in dubio.
I think it depends where you want to be and what you want to do. For me as an Arizona State grad who lived in Tempe from 2003-2010 I like being back by my old haunts. I like being able to go take a campus walk or go to my old pizza place or Tempe Beach Park to watch planes. I also prefer being in Tempe as I think it's more central to getting around to the rest of the Valley as I do tend to drive all over on my trips. That said, I think Scottsdale has better nightlife so if that was going to be my focus I'd be there.
