This property used to be a fantastic value for luxury many years ago when it first opened, and then to a lesser degree but still a very special place when it rebranded as a Luxury Collection property under the Starwood flag.
When I think of Hawaii, I first think of beaches and ocean vistas, not forest and mountains. This property is going to continue to struggle to generate money for the owner. During the height of summer when the weather is very hot in Hawaii I can see the lodge receiving an incremental boost in occupancy as a respite from the heat but otherwise the physical plant, the rooms in particular, do not command $650 a night let alone $4000. Do we have photos of the hopefully renovated pool(s?) and what I hope is an extensive spa and exercise facility?
