Interchange fee is quite high in the U.S., however in Europe its only 0.2% for debit / 0.3% for credit cards + accquirer fee + card scheme fee. So there it works like a charm. However, not needed that much since there are so many fintechs where you can top up your wallet free of charge and just wire the money out.
