It will be based on the selection on your online profile.
Also - the selection will be also available in your RA. If it does not seem right to you, you can request a change before exit. But it will no longer be "skip the line".
I have no personal experience (knock on wood), but isn't the Amex premium rental coverage (not complimentary) in house? It's underwritten by "Amex Assurance Company", which sounds like a division under the Amex "umbrella." Perhaps this discussion belongs in a different thread.
Both complimentary and non-complimentary coverage are in-house. In fact - AMEX Assurance can pay the claim directly into your AMEX card.
