From a remote work perspective....

Usable WiFi is available at all these properties. Noise at the Hilton PDC was a distraction for me. Even though our room was facing the beach, the music and noise from the constant daytime party at the pool was annoying. I could even hear it in the room with the balcony doors closed. I guess that's what you get with an all-inclusive party hotel. We were staying there because of the central location, not for the partying. So from that perspective it was annoying.

The Grand Hyatt in PDC was fine to work from. I had no issues working in a cabana by the pool. When the battery on my laptop needed to be charged I could go right into the nearby restaurant and plug in. When I was staying there the beach was pretty much non-existent, even at low tide. But the pool is elevated above the beach by about 10 feet or so.

I worked remotely from the JW Marriott in Cancun with no issues. WiFi was great by the pool, in the rooms, etc. The business center is really more of a lounge with a printer though. It's just a room filed with lounge chairs next to the main elevators. Not really suitable for working from my perspective.

There was a lot of construction going on at the Marriott when I was staying there. So the noise was a bit distracting, but no other complaints really.

There's a lot of digital nomads and expats living in Playa Del Carmen. There are lots of coworking spaces and beach clubs with WiFi to work from.

Outside of the resorts, the downside to Playa Del Carmen lately has been an increase in crime as well as an increase in tourists getting hassled by the police looking for bribes.
