Interesting. This place was always defended as some sort of vanity or aspirational project by Ellison and thus the $4k per night. No need to make money, no care if they are 10% occupancy. That doesn't really seem to mesh with dropping their rates to $650 a night -- why, its almost like they need paying guests like other hotels!
