I'm looking for...
* Nice rooms, or wonderful common areas that are usable as a workspace – since I'll be working weekdays 9-5
* Good free platinum breakfasts
* Good hotel gym
* On a beach or a nice pool/outdoor surroundings would be great - although I'm even open to stylish places like the Design Hotel in Playa del Carmen which doesn't even have a pool I don't think (although - no free breakfast either so probably not that particular hotel)

I want to avoid:
* Dilapidated / dingy properties, anything that makes me wonder if this was worth the effort
* Places that have a lot of screaming kids (no offense)

Any recommendations?
Well, I'm headed to the W Punta de Mita next week for the same purpose. Never been there before, but I have been to Solaz in Cabo (which I quite liked). The Platinum breakfast doesn't get good reviews but my room rate was very reasonable and included breakfast and a 20% F&B discount among other things. I'll report back from onsite.
