Getting rid of blue? To be honest, the fact that I do get a blue card without any conditions is the reason why I decided to join BA EC. You cannot imagine how embarrassing it is to show a home-printed temporary paper "card" at the gate.

In many other FF clubs you get a card only after a specified number of miles or segments flown. To get a real plastic card from day 1 makes me more loyal to BA...

It's easy to be loyal if your company pays the ticket for you. Paying for all my tickets and my status by myself shows much more loyality because there are so many cheaper tickets than BA fares.

So you get an opinion from an EC member who works hard for silver status... there are always two sides of the coin!
