BTW, you do not have to be Elite to get an upgrade on a Y fare. In most markets where there is a Y26 type fare, there is also a YUP fare for the same price, which entitles anyone to the upgrade at time of booking. The only hitch is that you must be connecting through a hub city to get the YUP fare. They are not available for those poor folks who live in DTW, MSP, or MEM.
