There's no "system to game" here. This is fully compliant with the T&Cs of SkyClub access, the only problem is if your arrival puts you outside the sterile area in which case getting back becomes a challenge (e.g., if you are arriving off an international flight).

That said given the relatively small delta between the SkyClub cost ($39) and the hotel cost ($100), I personally would rather go the hotel route to get in a shower, take a nap, hit the gym, and be in a more secluded space which I would view as a big factor given COVID.
