By the way, the UAE borders are open at this time for tourists; Qatar is closed and they are not a country that relies on tourism. I also don't think that Hong Kong and Singapore would open their borders without quarantine until they are down to zero cases.
It is showing R on both AA and Qatar website. Does that mean it mapped to R or still I? I got the seats assignment without a question by calling QR for the short flight and AA for the long codeshare. Also, we are a family of 3 and I picked 3F, 3 D and 4 D. My understanding is those are good for families since the 3s open to a double bed and 4D would open too. I agree Qatar does not rely on tourism but Qatar airways has been operating during Covid even when no one else was. I’m only transiting there and being optimistic vaccination is going to be half way or more considering that their population is not big.
