We were just at the Marriott Waiohai (MAW) on an exchange from Newport Coast (NCV) and their tease was 15K MR's or 75 BB's (we didn't go on the tour). For anyone reading, the best way to get the getaways is to call the marketing departments at the resorts. There's a Sheraton, Marriott, Embassy and Hyatt in the Poipu/Koloa area. For Marriott properties, go here, select the resort from the links, and then, when taken to the Marriott reservation engine, select "more hotel information" which will give the direct phone number. For example, the page for Waiohai looks like this. Call the property and ask to speak to someone in sales.

My instinct is that October/November are the best times to find availability and the best deals. Hawaii is often hard to get into, even as an owner, during the prime season, which is long.

Beware, these properties are very seductive and Marriott salespeople are pretty low-key. I wouldn't think twice about getting a 2 EOY interval at MAW if we had the extra money. We were down at the Sheraton on our last night, driving along the sea wall at sunset, and it was a sight to behold, all the people sitting and standing with their wine glasses, enjoying a glorious Hawaiian sunset. One week just wasn't long enough
